Ok, back again with a new barn find project. Today I traded 2 boxes of tomatoes from my garden for a craftsman dlt, 25hp 46 inch cut, automatic. The serial sticker has been wiped out & I have no idea what model it is to get parts. I think after research that it might be the dlt 3000.

It has the v twin 25hp intek, automatic, 46 inch cut, green. Gas tank is right next to the serial tag under the seat & I conclude that it was in a bad place & gas got spilled over the years & wiped out the lettering on the tag. Does anyone here own one or know the particular model number & year. I want to get it running as it ran great when parked.

Here is pictures of it. If you are looking for belt numbers and some other info, open the hood, inside the backside of the hood there is a decal with all the part numbers for most of the items that would need replacing. I found that this morning under the hood. Was dark last night when I got it home. It looked very krusty when I saw it in the light but I managed to fire it up. Runs like a champ. All safety switches are functioning right, good blades, blade clutch worked fine when powered up & the trans axle is working great & no hydro problems at all.had to weld a little on the deck as it had rusted through in a couple places.

Pulleys etc in great shape. Need the secondary deck belt replaced & a new battery & a couple of tubes for the rear tires. Washed it up with pressure washer & waxed it up good. Not bad for free & cleaned up fairly well for not being taken care of much in it's life. Some people just run the heck out of them & never consider maintenance.

Wonder why it was sitting in the old barn for years.I still needed the model # since there is a couple things that require it. Front deck support rods need replaced eventually getting worn out behind the clip hole etc.won't complain for free haul off & no money invested in it yet but around $150 for tubes, oil & filter/air filter, battery etc. Edited by howard H, July 01, 2013 - 02:03 PM. Wow, I worked on the new lawn tractor I got for free. I never really got the chance the other night to really check it out.photos are before & after cleaning & a wax job. Took no time at all to get the motor running.puuurrrrrrrfect.

Deck needed a couple spots welded. Sharpened the 3 mulching blades. Good condition too.

Lubed it up, checked the blade clutch. Checked the automatic trans axle. Worked great with no hydro problems.even both headlights worked! It is in good reasonable condition since I have really done no repairs on it but the welding.

It looked trashed & dented in the front. Still needs new battery, 2 inner tubes for the rear tires, oil & filter. Ready to mow. I am always getting lucky with equipment & getting it for free or very little cash. One of my many hobbies. Love fixing small engine stuff all my life.before & after cleaning & wax job pictures.

You probably made a real steal on that one! Should last a long time or you could flip it and sell it!

Congrats to you! Thanks.free was a very good price. 2 boxes of tomatoes with all I got never made a dent it the harvest. Had to put $150 into it for new battery & belts, tubes oil & filters but the cash cost still was a lot cheaper than buying a mower like it.

Just mowed around 3 acres with it yesterday & it never skipped a beat. Fun part was making the deck adjustments to be level cut. It was way off & for a turf mower it has to be right or you leave un-level lines in the cut.

It did very well.
