My 'Maintenance Required' message on my '13 Outty Max XT-P??? I read how to do it in the manual (more than once), but I can't seem to find it now for the life of me!

I'm hoping this is a delayed 10 hour service message. I'm way past my 10 hour service (which I did myself) but I never got the maintenance message when the service was due. I've had a couple of electronic issues.one intermittent Power Steering problem that seems to have resolved itself and I've had at least two instances where it did not recognize my key. Now, this 'Maintenance Required' message comes on every time I start the machine but it only comes on right after the machine is started (so if you are not looking for it, you won't see it). I need to try to reset it.

Did you intentionally omit using the override button on the middle step (just using the brake lever)??? Believe it or not.this is harder than it sounds! I was NOT able to get mine to reset although it made a weird sound the first time I tried it (some kind of electronic noise) and I thought it was going to work.

I tried every combination of things I could think of. I don't know if I got everything done within 4 seconds though. Why the heck would they make the time limit so low!?!? I guess I'll have to take it to a dealer and have it reset. I want to get my name reprogrammed anyways.

Sounds like a money grab. Aside from the fact that you have to spend time and money to get the bike to the dealers, i assume that they also change to clear the warning. Currently running a Honda Rubicon (currently on the market) but trying to make up my mind between a outlander max xt and xt-p.
